From There To Here

Hello to those of you who have traveled over here from Abby's first blog, Hope For Abigail. That blog began when we were looking for a way to keep people informed during her open heart surgery to repair a VSD - a large hole in her heart. It turned into a place where I was able to update friends and family on everything from weight gain to when she got her first tooth -- all signs of thriving post surgery. I love that blog. And, I love you all for reading it. It is a wonderful testament to her first year, to God's faithfulness and to her whole heart. But I thought that chapter should officially end and we should move over here to our new location, where I can keep you filled in on her life from a "whole-hearted" perspective. Alright, alright, enough with the "whole-hearted." You get the point.

To get things rolling.... our big girl finally loves to stand. I think I had just uttered the words to my sister in law Stacey, "Abby isn't that interested in standing. I'm also going to make her wear a sleep sack to bed for the next 4 years to ensure she doesn't stand (and climb out!) of her crib." By 3:30 that day, after lots of squawking and no sleeping, I went in to get our girl and found her standing up. Completely up. In her sleep sack. With a huge grin on her face.

She went and pulled herself up in the kitchen directly afterwards just to prove to me that it wasn't a fluke. Eeeee gads. What's next? Walking? And since then, the standing continues...

To my horror, this is actually the state of her fingernails on most days. She eats tiny blueberries every morning and then won't let me trim her nails. Grrr-oss!
